Heh, you need to carefully re-read my post :P But I'll answer anyway...

1. Marie-ka, pretty much. The way my name is put on my gi is Ma Ri Ka, which is pretty much the same thing. In Dutch the last e wouldn't be pronounced as an a really, but it's the closest English speakers really get.

it sounds more 'uh' than it does the 'ey' in key. If that makes sense.
