Well, the sewing machine works, even if it's testy and grouchy and refuses to cooperate sometimes. Usually when Kit's just walked out of the room. I think it does it on purpose.

Saturday in general was a bit of a loss... overslept so that PreZ missed his skating class, never made it to yoga either. Sunday Kit came over, though later than he'd anticipated as it was all new directions coming from his new place to ours. Eventually he made it. Went to Home Depot where vague case modding theories were discussed and then went off to find some food before we all succumbed to malnourishment.

Most of the evening was spent with PreZ and Kit working on case mod ideas and concepts and I spent the majority of the evening on the floor on my cutting board cutting out pieces for my cheongsam. While doing all kinds of stuff we watched one of the movies from the 50 Classic Horror Movies box set PreZ and I got a while ago, Carnival of Souls which was pretty weird and disjointed, and had pretty crap acting and dialogue. Part way through Atom Age Vampire we popped in Eddie Izzard's Circle show, and then Billy Connolly's Live: The Greatest Hits and after that I popped on the '95 BBC version of Pride and Prejudice of which we watched about one episode, before inflating the airbed for Kit and us all crawling off to bed at about 5 am.

I got a large part of the dress and lining assembled on Monday, with the exception of piecing together one last thing. Other than that it's on hold until Kit brings the interfacing for the collar. In the mean time I can repeat the stuff I've done for the other fabric I have.

Now it's time to wonder about which frog closures to get. I'm not sure if I'll get all the same frog closures for both dresses, or different ones for each. I'm leaning toward B01-10 in red/black for the skull fabric dress, and B01-09 in black/gold for the gold-medallion-on-black brocade dress. (djbloodroseAmber, any opinions?)

Kit and PreZ also managed to get most of their steampunk case mod design plotted. The sketches look great. PreZ has also enlisted the help of a colleague and ex-colleague, both know their way around pistons, engineering and one knows where to get pieces custom machined for intricate parts. This is definitely going to be an interesting project to watch, and document.
