Mouse Trap!

Finally caught what should be the last mouse... the one who got away. Well, he wasn't getting away this time.

Peanut butter is effective in attracting mice, but unfortunately I found out that they can manage to lick it off a trap without setting the trigger, no matter how sensitive the trap was. So some bread crust was used instead, wedged in tightly... a lot harder to get at and eat and so more likely to be triggered.

Success!

I'll be cleaning off the patch of fur and blood and rearming it again in case there were more that we don't know about, though I think we got the entire family.

And now I get to reclean the entire countertop that I cleaned yesterday to get rid of all mouse cooties.

It's nice to have reclaimed our countertops again, no more mouse shit everywhere and no need to be as paranoid about mouse germs on the counters, rather than feeling the need to wash ones hands each time the counter was touched because of the fact that the mice traipsed across it all night.
