Aug. 27th, 2003 12:49 amFriday night was Tori Amos with Ben Folds which was loads of fun. Ben Folds was very amusing and did some fun crowd interaction, getting people to harmonise on some songs and the like.
Tori was wonderful as ever. It was also her 40th birthday and towards the end her crew rolled out a tray with 3 small cakes with candles on it and the entire venue sang Happy Birthday to her which was really nice.
I love watching Tori, she's amazing... this self-contained bundle of creativity. A lot of the time she actually reminds me of Delirium of the Endless, and not just because of the red hair ;) In the dictionary they should have her picture next to "sultry"... just the way she looks towards the crowd (there were big tv screens placed throughout the venue).
Great once again... I don't think I'll ever get enough of watching her perform live.
After Tori we headed off to the Edison diner and met up with a couple more friends and generally kept Katie up way too late as she had to be awake at a criminally early time to slaver away at a job.
Much fun was had.
