Another weekend speeds past... so after watching so much I Love The 80s Strikes Back I decided to watch The Goonies on Friday night. Ah, how I love that movie... I have to say that I don't get that 80s fashion of wearing shorts over your tracksuit pants though that Josh Brolin's character Brandon wears, but it was the 80s after all ;)

Saturday we went to the mall on and picked up more Halloween stuff at Joann's, 50% off is a very good thing. Also a pair of new boots at Parade, calf height with faux lacing and a flared 2-2.5 inch heel, really nice... good for day to day wear as well, and while my other calf boots are still okay, it's nice to have something that looks a little newer, especially with upcoming seasonal holidays.

Today we headed off to NJ, with the intention of going to this Halloween store near Cherie's place. We picked Kit up on the way to Cherie, and PreZ had his jacket fitted while we were there. Then off to the Halloween store, were we only bought like $10 of stuff. It was all horribly tacky, really cheap crappy plastic shite. Now while we don't mind it if it's slightly cheesy sometimes, we do draw the line at really cheap and tawdry. So that was a bit of a washout. They had goth/victorian/vampire costumes there... really cheesy and shitty looking, we laughed a lot at that.

Went for lunch at some Mexican place called Chevy's which was really yummy. Then we went and bought some movie tickets for the afternoon show. We walked into the theatre and there was already a movie playing, and not our movie (Under the Tuscan Sun)... and then we realised that PreZ hadn't set his cell phone to the correct time, and we still had an hour to kill. So we headed off to some party store and picked up some miscellaneous bits and pieces for our Halloween party. After dropping that off at the car we walked back into the theatre, and watched the last scene of Kill Bill in the gorgeous winter garden before walking into our own theatre to watch Veronica Guerin.

Veronica Guerin was a great movie, although quite grim in the beginning and not very uplifting at the end. It's based on the true story of Irish reporter Veronica Guerin who starts delving into the Dublin underground while writing an exposé about drugs and the people behind it. Cate Blanchett really gave an incredible performance. Well worth watching though. I find it somewhat surprising that something that marked an important point in time for the Irish isn't mroe well known... or at least I'd never heard of her.

Anyway, time to go read :)
