Sites and Cirques
May. 28th, 2004 05:33 pmThe site for Kim is nearing completion. Right now I need to put in the content of 3 more books and their sub-pages as well as the Contact page, but the rest is all done. The only other thing that's really awaiting Kim's feedback is the main logo image. I'd done the text in orange and she wants more yellow/gold. So I put together 3 alternative version and sent them off in an email to see which of them she likes, if any.
Content insertion is a bit dull though, having to cut and paste every paragraph and add whatever formatting tags etc. Definitely not the most fun part of the design process at all. There's a temp site up at http://www.silentgarden.net/temp/kim/ for the curious, with the vast majority of the content uploaded as well.
I'm about half way through her latest novel Giants of the Frost, which I'm enjoying immensely. After that I still have the third Gina Champion novel, Moonstorm, to polish off before I'm all up to date with reading her work. After that it will be the From Hell graphic novel, as Kreestof lent it to me and I want to return it as soon as I can. I hate having people's things for a while, it makes me feel guilty because I feel like I've had it too long.
Tonight we go to Cirque du Soleil's Alegria, for my birthday still. Kit should be arriving soon and we'll be driving down there in like an hour and a half. I'm really looking forward to this. I've wanted to go see a Cirque show for years, and back when I still lived in Holland I looked into getting Alegria tickets when it toured Holland about 4-5 years or so ago. It never eventuated and I'm glad I have the chance to go now. Tom and Karen will be meeting us at the venue.
Last night Kreestof was here for a while hanging out. We got some take-out for dinner, because I wasn't in the mood to cook... I had a spicy Maki roll combo, yummy! Which came with Miso soup, which makes me happy... I love that stuff. Speaking of food, I should start working on that soon, as we'll want to eat before we leave, which is just before 7. Karahi Chicken with rice, nothing that takes too long to cook fortunately. And tasty too.
