In Memoriam : Abby
Oct. 5th, 2005 07:33 pmI just got home from being out of town for a few days to an email from my mother.
Saturday they let my cat Abby out, and by Monday (the date of the email) they still hadn't seen her. No word since then, but I doubt there's any change in the situation. Being that she turned 18 back on May 15th, and that she's been getting more and more frail in her old age, they're assuming that she went off to die, as cats are wont to do alone.
I'd been fearing this news for a long while now, and I had hoped that she would hang on until next year, when I had wanted to go back home to visit, and to see her again, but sadly it wasn't to be.
