Dear Microsoft,

When I update my Windows OS, I really do not need that "You must restart your computer" dialogue box to pop up every 10 minutes distracting me from whatever it is I'm doing. I do know that you eventually want me to restart, but I'm perfectly capable of remembering to do it in the first place, and also capable of deciding when to do it too.

So kindly take that dialogue box and FUCK OFF!

Signed,

Me

Halloween

This year we're doing something different for Halloween. Rather than sit around waiting for the 3 trick-or-treaters that we get around here (a busy road means that parents usually get their kids to avoid this street) which invariably makes me feel incredibly let down on what is supposed to be a fun night, we're going away for the weekend before and the holiday itself.

We'll be spending that Saturday night in Boston, and the next two nights at a bed-and-breakfast in Salem. Yep, we're visiting the witches' town for Halloween. It seemed fitting. And stereotypical :P But it should also be fun.

One thing that will be the same as most years, our little annual Halloween shindig with friends, the exact date of which is still to be determined.

Now the only thing that remains is deciding if and when to decorate outside for Halloween. Dylan, the kid from upstairs has been asking since mid-September when we were going to decorate, and ever since he decorated upstairs on September 30th, he's been asking PreZ and I when we were going to decorate every single time he sees us. This is the kid who asks to look at our decorations in the garage mid-way through the year. He lives for this holiday.
