Usually August is the worst month, especially around here. Last year July wasn't so bad... I remember that it was positively chilly on the 4th. The summer was a bit on-again, off-again all season, which was a bit of a shame. I'm sure the plants didn't complain about the fact there was lots of rain at night though... and neither did I to be honest, because rain always takes a nice edge off the nighttime heat.
This year though I think we need to organise some events a little closer to home on the 4th, for obvious reasons ;)
