Love or hate the HP series, I think J.K. Rowling should be congratulated for getting millions of people to read, because at least it opens many kids' eyes to the fact that books can be fun and have amazing stories within them to be found and loved.

I think the HP series is one of the few books I've actually pre-ordered. Most of the time I just wait until it's been released before I order.

We came late to the series, and so the first 5 had already been released I think, and then the 6th was released a couple of days after Dashiell was born, so not a likely time to go stand in a queue at the bookstore ;) And then there's the fact that I like the UK version, but that's mostly because of the spelling etc. We also have the Philosopher's Stone, not the Sorceror's Stone ;) Like I said, I'm a dork that way.

Plus, it's cute to see all the kids (and teenagers) all hyped up about the book.

And adults, let's not forget :D
