So I just caught a mouse in one of the traps our landlady gave us last week. These more humane traps (as humane as you can call a pad of glue which essentially resembles oversized flypaper) are nice, but the question of 'what the hell do I do with the mouse now?' arises. At least with the other traps you're usually just cleaning up the mess :/

I pried the mouse off the glue pad, it was stuck by it's 2 backlegs and tail. It's pretty unscathed, though got a bit of a hair trim when I was snipping the glue off to set it free, and it's probably got sticky paws, tail and butt. Poor little bugger was literally shitting itself while I was freeing it.

I now have a mouse sitting in a box next to the door. I'm unsure of what to do with it... obviously setting it free in the yard is out of the question, because he'll just move back into the house again.

I once caught a whole family of young mice, and their mother. They were behind the hot water system in the garage. What I did with them was get a normal mouse trap, and a barrel, set the mouse trap in the barrel, put a mouse in there with it, close the lid and shake the barrel so the mouse ran around in circles until I'd hear a *SNAP*! Then I'd take the mouse out, throw it in the compost, reset the trap and start over. It was quite entertaining/amusing/hilarious. *cocks head to one side and raises one edge of his mouth in a wicked smile* :P

I'm not sick and twisted, really.

are there any nearby fields?
You could always release it in a park or an empty lot somewhere where it can have a chance to survive or to feed another larger animal.

We have a very large cat... and the poor anorexic creature is just starving for a meal.
