I thought he looked cool :) He's been DJing upscale gay nightclubs that are themed much like Club Makeup and Glitterdome were. That's the kind of makeup they were there - really outrageous glam stuff - glitter galore and bright colors. More recently he's doing a theatrical show - brought over to the US by Rosie and I think he's pretty outrageous looking for that one too.
