Blergh. Lots of stuff is just acting up or wigging out on my computer the last few days, so it looks like this weekend will mean a full reformat and reinstallation. The hdd was one that was transplanted from PreZ's machine to mine, and hasn't had a clean reinstall since that event, so it could use it to say the least.

Other than that, my cd-rw drive won't open more than like 1/8" (which has been an issue for a couple of weeks), my dvd-rom stopped reading discs after letting me watch the first Finding Nemo disc Tuesday night, yet refused to let me play the extras disc (or another one I tried to play this afternoon). Earlier in the afternoon the entire screen went really wonky, with stuff plastered all over the place. Now earlier this evening it wouldn't even boot up into windoze, unless in safe mode, though that righted itself after having the machine turned off for a while. My 5 speaker system has only had 3 of the speakers (left and right front and center) working ever since we put in the new desk and moved my stuff across the room and had the other hdd put in a couple months ago. Currently all I have is onboard sound since it actually booted up earlier. And last time I tried to run my virus scanner, it would reset my comp every time I tried to do it.

So you see, it's in dire need of a reformat/reinstall.

Because it always takes ages to reinstall everything it's tempting to wait til the weekend, but on the other hand I'm not sure I can be arsed waiting until the weekend rolls around and just being frustrated with my comp for the next few days.
