More socialising *gasp*

So early this evening Cherie called out of the blue and mentioned wanting to do dinner and a movie because we haven't seen each other in a while, since her party on Boxing day in fact. So she and Brian trekked up from NB to hang out, which was fun. Because they arrived fairly late we left dinner for after the movie, and had tea before heading off to go see Big Fish.

Big Fish was good, very entertaining. I knew nothing about the movie going in, other than it was directed by Tim Burton, and had Ewan McGregor in it, and that was pretty much it. I like watching a movie where you're pretty much left in the dark about what's going to happen throughout the whole thing, and then this strange and wonderful story unfolds. I loved Ewan McGregor in this, it just suited him so well. The fight scene in the daffodil patch is so funny and cute. I also loved Steve Buscemi, he amuses me in all his roles. The physical similarities between the girl playing the young Sandra and Jessica Lange, playing the older Sandra was really good... they really have the same eyes and such, and looked like they really were older and younger versions of the same person.

After the movie we walked out to a world covered in white, because it had started to snow while we were inside. Less than an inch at the time, and barely the same amount again while we were in the diner having a very late dinner. Had bizarre conversations about wicker and stuff when we were back home, and then they headed off home at around 2 or so.

A fun evening, it was good to catch up, especially as it had already been something like 3 weeks or so with virtually no word.

To keep up with the theme, we really should have some other social gettogethers with other people sometime soon... Kit, Tom, Karen etc. :D

Hanging out was fun, we really should do it more often.

Well, I'm thinking about going to Contempt on friday.... it's the last one for a while because they're getting kicked out of the venue because they were "scaring away the regular customers" even though they made the club allot money.

While Contempt is an appealing night, with the fact that it's like minus 2352352 degrees, I'm not so sure ;)

We'll see, I'll talk to PreZ about it and let you know.
