I generally don't really show off what it is I'm doing to the world at large, other than a few odd mentions here and there about a new site design for something or other being up, but as I was screenshotting a number of things, to make sure I have everything documented, I figured I could post some of them here to share.

My current site design, and soon to be ex-, mainly as I've had it up for a few months, and I'm fed up with it and in need of something new. And it was actually meant as something temporary that would only last a month or two at best, as it reflected a few things I was feeling at the time of inception.
The live, and larger, version at http://www.silentgarden.net/

A design I made for a project of PreZ's, Mantra. I remember being really happy with the way that the image for that turned out. The live and larger version of that over at http://www.neuromancy.net/mantra/

An image I made for a layout that I never ended up using. It just didn't fit with what I wanted to do, so now it just kind of sits gathering virtual dust in a folder somewhere. The original is somewhat larger. If anyone wants me to knock up the actual design that I had in mind for it for a site, let me know, it shouldn't take too long. Otherwise it'll sit in that folder until I find somewhere to use it, or not.

A small fanlisting addiction means there's a fair bit more I can show off, which I'll do soon. Small increments at a time :)

If you want I can donate scans of similar flowers. They come from a card set I bought at Ikea ;)

That and sometimes I'm just so riddled with self doubt over what it is I'm doing that it's hard to objectively see any value in what you're doing.

I have an idea: how about you move back to Australia, teach me how to do all that stuff, then disappear so I have no competition?
*grin*
You know, if you felt like making an LJ stylesheet with that last image, I'd use it... If you felt like it, that is... *heh*

But, like I said, that would still be cool.

There was a light mustard colour 1px border running across the top and bottom, which I removed. It was there because the site layout I had in mind was going to be a horizontal strip across the screen, and I didn't think you'd need that if you want to use it as a background in your LJ.
Credit on your info page would be lovely if you use it :)

Thankyou, gorgeous!! *hugs* Have a look! (http://www.livejournal.com/~catdraco)

I really do love it, it's just that I really had nothing it would work well for. Nice to see it got a happy home :)

Re:
XSL?
Re:
I'm thinking of setting up something either pure XML+CSS or XML+XSL on my new weblog I've been experimenting with. It will need to use XML+XSL so it can deliver normal HTML to IE, and either XML+CSS or XML+XSL on the client side for anyone who can accept application/xml content. Basically so if anyone views source, their brain breaks from not seeing any form of HTML or XHTML whatsoever. ;-)
Re:
But then I'm not that hot on the more programming/backend side of sites.
Re:
I plan to frequently write about Jabber stuff on the new journal, so I'll be wanting a tag specifically for marking up a term which is an XML namespace. Instead of using a <span class="xml-namespace">, if I just write XML I can invent an <xml-namespace> tag or similar which will get styled in the same way. Say goodbye to the 'class' attribute. :-)

Most of the image stuff is just playing around in PhotoShop with images and brushes and the like. The site code is stuff I taught myself with tutorials all over the web. I'm thinking about making a CSS tutorial as thats a major element in how I do my site designs, and it's the thing I recommend most to people to do/learn, and the thing I end up explaining and teaching most often too. So it seems like a good idea to actually have it up on a site that I can send people to.
