Along with an automated message saying I was added to a user's orkut friends list, this particular user sent me this:

Hi,
I usually dont add pretty women just coz of their physical appearances, but am adding you just coz I am attracted to you.
Its up to you now.

At least he's not beating around the bush, but still.

I guess that "I'm not interested in guys who trawl friend/networking sites for chicks" portion of my bio didn't make an impression on him.

Needless to say, he didn't get added.

At first I felt bad for turning down people who wanted to friend me on orkut but I got over that. Can't please the whole world now can we? :)
Apart from that, I often forget/don't get a change to check Orkut heh! I already hardly get to livejournal let alone orkut. Are you active on there in comms or such? Just curious:)

If people have nothing in common with me, or from a look at their friends list seem to be serial-pretty-woman-adders, I'm not going to add them in Orkut. I prefer to at least meet people who have some kind of shared interests, or who are genuinely interested in meeting other people as friends, not as dating fodder, or some lame status symbol of having cute girls on their list.

I'm not really active in many communities there, I check some of them fairly regularly though, mostly the yoga one at the moment, seeing as I'll be starting with that very soon. Sometimes I have a peek into the Netherlands one. Earlier this evening I was reading in the Tea, Women in Martial Arts and Amelie communities. So it depends also on what I'm interested in at the time, and how much time I have to spare too.

Yeah. It made me laugh out loud reading it though, it's so preposterous.

Thing is, looking at that guy's friends list on Orkut, he had numerous pretty women on there, vastly outnumbering any males and country(wo)men, so I'm pretty sure that he used that line before too.

I think the hot women outnumber the men on all my friends lists on these various sites. I can't help it if I'm a hot chick magnet :)
