... And so is the goddamn construction crew in next door's backyard.
FUCKERS!
They made our weekends, and even weekdays at some point, hell by digging up the yard (for the second consecutive summer) from early Spring through til November, starting at 7am or so, on both weekend days. Looks like they're back for round 3 *sigh*.
Goodbye to sleeping in. ARGH!

Date: 2004-04-03 04:44 pm (UTC)They've put terraces into the side (we're on like a hill, so the backyard slopes down from the road). The terraces have been constructed from like iron girders or something and have been welded into place. They've been levelling stuff off and moving ground all over the place.
Back in November they put in plants into some of the terraces, and so I thought they were finally done. Apparantly not.
Other than that, yeah I'm also wondering why it's taking so long, because they spent at least 2 days a week with at least 3-4 people running around in that backyard. And a lot of the time they'd be working in there during weekdays at times too.
It's not the hanging gardens of Babylon by any stretch.
Worker incompetence might also have something to do with it. Even after 2 whole years they couldn't drive the bobcat properly, and pretty much every time they'd start it up, and they wouldn't accelerate enough when lifting the clutch, and it would shut off again. I can't remember how many times we've endured that sound.
