Welcome To MigraineLand

So I thought it was only a headache, but 24+ hours later and the 2 Aleve I took early this evening not even making a dent, it's official... it's a migraine.

And I was exposed to my trigger Saturday night too... incense (sorry verv :P).

Hello MigraineLand, say hello to paracetamol with codeine! and here's hoping it makes a dent.

Oh I long for a Mersyndol. Pity they don't have those over the counter here in the US like they do in AU. Mersyndol is paracetamol with codeine and a muscle relaxant, the one they use in Nyquil that makes you drowsy... 2 of those babies were the only things to get me to sleep the last time I had a migraine, which lasted 2 weeks. It was blissful unconciousness amidst stabbing pain. At least the migraine isn't that severe, but I wouldn't have minded one to help me sleep tonight.

Mersyndol is what the doc prescribed ally for his headache before it was diagnosed as Viral Meningitis.

They just gave him Morphine instead :)

Heh.

Yeah, I'm sure the morphine helped much better :)

Argh! If only we'd known!! Many apologies :(

It's okay. Usually it has to be lots of incense before I get a migraine, and most of the time scented stuff only gives me a mild headache sometimes.

My one and only previous migraine, which lasted 2 weeks, was when [livejournal.com profile] tks and I were out and about in Windsor (AU) and entered some witchy type store, which was the size of a small closet and had an incense stick burning in each of the 4 corners.

It's also not one of the light-sensitive need-to-lie-very-still-under-the-covers ones either, I just have a constant moderate headache. So do-able, though I'm not going to karate today.

"was triggered when [livejournal.com profile] tks"

Oooh...nasty thing. I've found that Naproxine, which I've probably spelled wrong, works rather well for my migraines. I think you need a prescription for that, though.

Mmmmm...Codeine tablets. Those little babies were all that kept me sane after I had my wisdom tooth cut from my skull.
