If Tim Burton and Pixar got together, I imagine the result might look a bit like this:

It's a one-man project. Although that one man seems to be somewhat of a renaissance man from the looks of things... writing, drawing, animation, layout and design for his book (Making Of), modelling (as in making, not doing). He's managed to secure private financing so he can work on it fulltime.
The mission he set himself was to make an animated short film using over the counter consumer 3D software. It's not finished, but there are clips and stills and concept shots and storyboards on the site. I definitely can't wait to see it when it's done.
