Do places like the Salvation Army or whatever local clothing collection type places take items that come with company logos and stuff on it? And I mean stuff like some local construction company, or a former employer, not nifty brand names.

We went through a box of old clothing that's been sitting mostly untouched in the bedroom since we moved (and I think most of it lay untouched in closets for months/years before that), and sorted out what we wanted to keep, what we want to try to sell, what needs to be binned and what could go to charity. I'm not going to bother trying to sell logo'd stuff on Ebay, because I know that most likely nobody would want it, but are charities that picky too, or should I designate all of that to the bin as well (which seems like such a waste)?

Charity shops will take pretty much anything, provided it is in good and wearable condition. I have turned all manner of bizarre clothes over to charity with nary a complaint. If you ask me, you are good to go. :)

Salvation Army does indeed accept logo'd clothing. I've turned quite a few old work shirts in for my brother and they took them without incident.

funny that you mention it cause just the other day I was listening to NPR and they were talking about people in africa purchasing thrift items shipped from Britain and America, and often, buying clothing that had stuff printed on it which they could not even read... the interviewer was amused by finding a shirt that said "Jones Family Reunion 1996" on it or something.
they don't care though, as long as it fits.
