Slip-Up Or Freudian Slip?

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we," Bush said. "They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."  -- President Bush.    August 5th, 2004.

Another Bushism, and quite an unfortunate one at that. His handlers must have been groaning inwardly at this one.

Why they still let him talk is what I can't figure out.

They have to keep up the pretense that he's more than a puppet somehow... ;)

Hehehe, I saw that on Channel 4 news earlier today. At first I thought I had simply misheard until I remembered, well, it IS President Bush after all. Perhaps all that lying is taking its toll?

The truth will out.

I was reading speculation recently that they've got him pretty doped up on anti-depressants and psychoactive drugs because he's an untreated alcoholic and addict in a heavily stressful situation, which can cause serious mental health problems. Of course, this was presented by an unnamed source, so it could all be utter bollocks. But you have to wonder. How anyone in that position of public scrutiny manages to stay even relatively sane is beyond me (glad I'll never be famous), but how a person with serious addictions to alcohol and other drugs they've never dealt with except by getting fundamentalist religion copes is utterly beyond me.
