The One Where Toes Get Maimed
So the latest in a set of karate related injuries...
Wednesday I lost the skin off the sole of my big toe, and the skin on the other big toe came loose but only has a tear. I have no idea how that happened, maybe my feet are all pansy-assed after not being on the dojo mats for 3 weeks or so and my calluses have gone into hibernation.
There is now hot pink 1/16" deep "hole" in my toe which is about 1/2 to 1 inch square. Quite interesting. Hopefully the brand spanking new skin will toughen up in short order, because I don't feel like doing again what I had to do after class to be able to walk home, which is tape everything up with bandaids and sports tape. Which was way more bearable than I thought it would be, but not the most pleasant experience either.
Other than that, the first class in about 3 weeks wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, which is good. Only a week and a half til the next promotion test, which I'm not particuarly looking forward too, as that will be very long (2.5-3 hours) and very tough, in probably a warm and humid dojo. Bleh.

Yeah, it hurts - but you get incredibly tough skin, quickly.
