Regressing to Childhood

PreZ and I spent several hours regressing to our childhood last night when I accidentally tuned into VH1's "I Love The 80s" show... we sat through '86, '87, '88 and '89 (each 1 hour episodes) and said "oh, I remember that!" and "I loved that movie/song/whatever!" way too many times, in conjunction with having stupid grins on our faces just reminiscing.

Even though I was a teenager mostly during the 90s, the 80s are just a lot cooler, in that dorky kinda way ;)

I believe they're re-running it next week, so I'll have to keep an eye out for 1980-1985.

Goddamn if I don't feel old watching that though... and I'm only mid 20s.

PreZ leert Nederlands

So PreZ's Learn Dutch Now software arrived today (thanks Brian!).

So now I'm listening to strange Dutch being garbled in the background.

The segment in which you record your voice and the computer analyzes it to tell you how close to a native speaker you sound (keep trying, good job, wow)... even I got 'good job' on quite a lot of them, and I *am* a native speaker. The voices on the program have a kind of distinctive pronunciation themselves... it's almost like having a program teaching you English by having an uber snooty BBC presenter from the 50s doing the pronunciation.
