prezPreZ and I spent several hours regressing to our childhood last night when I accidentally tuned into VH1's "I Love The 80s" show... we sat through '86, '87, '88 and '89 (each 1 hour episodes) and said "oh, I remember that!" and "I loved that movie/song/whatever!" way too many times, in conjunction with having stupid grins on our faces just reminiscing.

Even though I was a teenager mostly during the 90s, the 80s are just a lot cooler, in that dorky kinda way ;)

I believe they're re-running it next week, so I'll have to keep an eye out for 1980-1985.

Goddamn if I don't feel old watching that though... and I'm only mid 20s.

I love that show too... they've had the first set around for awhile and then they did I love the 70's but now they did a new set of I love the 80's, so there's two shows for each year to watch now :)

Pfft :P

At least you lived through the 80s more than I did... I was 3 at the onset of them ;)

You didn't miss a whole lot. :P
There was some good stuff, some really, truly horrible stuff.
Like with any decade!

Denying your love of the 80's is like denying you undying love of Fresca!

Heh, I don't deny loving the 80s... far from it... I just have a problem with feeling so damn old now that it's become retro reminiscing tv ;)

I have a fantastic CD that my boy (http://www.livejournal.com/users/captainflux) burned for me, somewhat begrudgingly (because he thinks my 14 year old taste in music is largely crap *grin*).

Anyway, he named it "1991 With A Sausage", and it's a mix of my favourite songs from when I was 14 and 15 (ie, 1990-91). Love it. I don't care how wanky it is, I get so swept up in the nostalgia thing...

i got really stoned once when vh1 was running their i love the 80's marathon, and watched the entire thing, 1980-1989. even though i don't remember much until like 1986, i had a blast. "i love the katies!" :P

my favorite bit is the p.s.a's, all grainy and cheesy. like a sandwich.
