"May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't to forget make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself." -- Neil Gaiman
Okay, so it's lame to use someone else's wish for the New Year, but he is so much more eloquent than I.
And this one snatched from Ms. Priest's journal, for amusement:
New Year's wisdom from comedian Ron White:
"I believe that if life hands you lemons, you should make lemonade. And then you should go find someone to whom life has handed vodka ..."
Ron White's stand-up is well worth checking out incidentally. A couple of weekends ago Kit and I were laughing with tears in our eyes as we watched his "They Call Me Tater Salad" show on Comedy Central.
