USPS Annoyance
Jun. 8th, 2007 07:36 pmGod, the USPS are a bunch of stupid wankers.
When we moved we filled in those nice mail-forwarding things. I did it online, which was convenient, and we ended up paying $1 per person per mail-forwarding form for it, so between the 3 of us and GN, that was $4.
Our old landlords still receive mail for us at our old place. Even though there's supposed to be a mail forwarding order. Due to an error by an online store, an item I ordered was sent to our old place (even though they had my new address on file and had actually delivered to that new address before too, but nevermind). The package was sent Priority mail, and should have been forwarded automatically, but of course wasn't. Maybe the delivery confirmation screwed that up. Luckily we're friendly with our old landlords and didn't move too far away, because that was a Very Expensive Package ™.
Along with the package were a few other mail items, mostly unimportant stuff, catalogs and the like. But there were a few straggling bills and such... which had those nice yellow post office stickers on it, saying that they couldn't forward because there was no forwarding order. I realise that paying $1 for a mail forwarding order isn't much, and you can't expect too much for that kind of money... but you'd think they'd actually be more consistent in applying said forwarding order which does exist. Argh.
