This is mostly for [livejournal.com profile] littleweirdgrrl and [livejournal.com profile] darktor, seeing as it came up a couple of weeks ago when we got together for dinner, though it applies to anyone on my friends list who works on a freelance basis with their skills and/or artwork.

It's geared mostly towards the webdesign industry, as that's the field the person who wrote it is in, but it's applicable across the board.

Hi there. I can't post in [livejournal.com profile] pregnant, but wanted to ask you about GD. Do you remember what your numbers were for the 1 and 3 hr tests? I've just been diagnosed with it and I'm taking it pretty hard, considering it's basically turned my life upside down (sounds dramatic, but really, it's screwing with me). Anyway, I wanted to compare my numbers with yours to see if maybe I have a chance of not having it. Thanks in advance.

I'll have to email her and ask to be honest. She never told me what the exact numbers were, just that they were "slightly elevated".

So I'll have to get back to you on that one :)

For the 1 hour it was 172, with the 140 cut-off.

With the 3 hour it was:

(left cut-off number, right mine)

95/75
180/165
155/166
140/144

So with the three hour only the last two levels were elevated, and mildly so.

My midwife did caution me about giving you these results, because things are so individual with pregnancy... your pregnancy and body work differently than mine, and the way your hormones affect your glucose processing etc. can all be different. So basically, don't take my results as any kind of holy writ to reference your own situation against.

Good luck though!

Thanks for getting back to me. It doesn't look like your numbers differ all too much from mine. My last two were also the elevated ones. Considering that on this diet, my range is something in the 80-90 range, I think my doctors are being overly cautious. They denied my request to retake the 3 hour. =\
