Last year's entry is here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/tanthe/93195.html

01. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before? Got a green card. Which is the best thing I can come up with right now.

02. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? My resolutions for 2004 were of the "eat healthier, exercise more" variety. Not sure if we ate that much healthier than last year, but I definitely exercised more, by taking up yoga and karate, though yoga fell by the wayside due to scheduling conflicts. I'll probably set the same resolutions for 2005.

03. Did someone close to you give birth? My cousin's wife had a baby boy called Morris. (not the same cousin/wife as the one last year).

04. Did anyone close to you die? Yes, Merijn, in a tragic accident in August. Though he wasn't someone super close to me, he's someone I'd known since childhood.

05. What countries did you visit? La-La-Land... Los Angeles ;)

06. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004? More self-confidence.

07. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? August 2nd, the day Merijn died. Halloween, the day we confirmed my pregnancy (yes, how goff). December 21st, when we first heard our baby's heartbeat.

08. What was your biggest achievement(s) of the year? I don't really think I achieved anything, to be honest. Nothing comes to mind anyway.

09. What was your biggest failure(s)? The avoidant and procrastinating part of my personality.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Nothing spectacular, just the usual coughs and scrapes and morning sickness.

11. What was the best thing you bought? My sewing machine.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? PreZ. For always being there when I needed him or not, and just for being the best thing ever.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? On a global scale: Dubya, for the second year running (that I'm keeping this tally). And other people as well, those once considered friends.

14. Where did most of your money go? Of the total expenses? Rent. And the usual boring expenses... groceries, car payments/insurance, bills.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? The fact that we're going to have a baby!

16. What song will always remind you of 2004? Nothing stands out at the moment.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you
i. happier or sadder? happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? fatter, marginally, but there's a valid (and hopefully temporary) reason for that...
iii. richer or poorer? poorer, marginally.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Anything interesting? :P

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Procrastinating, avoiding.

20. How will you be spending Christmas? We spent Christmas with PreZ's cousin and her two kids and ex-husband. Dinner and chit-chat. Quiet but good.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004? I was still in love in 2004.

23. How many one-night stands? None, just frequent married sex0r.

24. What was your favorite TV program? CSI (Las Vegas), Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars, Inside The Actor's Studio.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Hate? No, probably not, though there's one person that comes close, to the point of almost wanting to do them physical violence. I did come to dislike several people and lose a lot of respect for some.

26. What was the best book you read? These are always the things of which chronological lines turn to mush in my head, so I don't often remember if I read something this year or last. I don't think I read as much this year either. Liquor by Poppy Z. Brite.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Dresden Dolls

28. What did you want and get? A warm scarf that Luna knitted for me in the colours that I wanted :)

29. What did you want and not get? Jude Law :D

30. Favorite film of this year? Tough one... I liked The Incredibles, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Hero, Spider-Man 2, Chronicles of Riddick, Dawn of the Dead and a load of other stuff.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? 27, and PreZ and I went out to dinner at a local Japanese restaurant, Abis.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Some friends being more reliable.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004? Same as 2003: Is "Blah" a concept?

34. What kept you sane? PreZ

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Jude Law, no surprise there.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? The election. And last years answer is still applicable: A toss-up between the Iraq cluster-fuck and the equal rights gay marriage issue.

37. Who do you miss? My brothers, my dad, my cat Abby.

38. Who was the best new person you met? Patrick and Amber. People I've known online for ages, finally in the flesh. Kreestof, who I'd met before, but with whom we really started to actually hang out with this year.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004: That some people suck, no matter how much you do for them or excuse their behaviour. And that it's better to cull these toxic elements from your life.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: Also one where nothing springs to mind particularly.

Happy New Year peeps!
