Grrrr

Dear Microsoft,

When I update my Windows OS, I really do not need that "You must restart your computer" dialogue box to pop up every 10 minutes distracting me from whatever it is I'm doing. I do know that you eventually want me to restart, but I'm perfectly capable of remembering to do it in the first place, and also capable of deciding when to do it too.

So kindly take that dialogue box and FUCK OFF!

Signed,

Me

Worse: "Your computer will restart in one minute. To restart later, click now."

It means that not only does it distract me, if something else distracts me I might miss it and my puter will reboot itself.

I really like having my computer (and my puter skills) sorted so that I don't bother opening Windoze unless it's to play the Sims, really. Linux is so tricky, but it's so predictable in that it only does what I ask it to. I am turning into a pain in the arse...

You can change how/when it downloads and installs updates, so I already turned off the automatic feature, because that one would randomly reboot my machine after installing if I didn't respond to one of those dialogue boxes. Usually this happened in the middle of the night when I wasn't around my machine. It took me a while to figure out why I'd walk into the room in the mornings to find the computer reset.

They made me do it...
