Just as I was thinking that I need to hurry up and learn to knit so I can make leg warmers for Dashiell, so that he doesn't get cold legs when his pant legs hike up when I carry him in the Mei Tai, someone points me to http://www.babylegs.net/.
They have them in black, with bones on them! And on http://www.theecstore.com/ those ones are discounted for the post-Halloween season. Whee!

Date: 2005-11-21 06:18 am (UTC)Even with the 3-6 month pants Dash ends up with at least an inch of naked leg in the Mei Tai. Not a problem when it's indoors, or only for a brief period outdoors right now... but the temperature is fast approaching freezing, and it's not going to get any warmer for many months to come.
So because I can't yet knit my way out of a wet paper bag, I bought 2 pairs of the Bones babylegs (they were on clearance, and I always regret when I only buy one of something really cute and it never makes a return... plus I can always gift it), one of the green jester design, and blue polka dots. I also really like the autumn stripe one, but I didn't want to spend even more money, and the green and blue ones suit many of the outfits I have for him better than that design.
I recently bought a Westchester magazine at Whole Foods, which is for our county. I noticed something about various crafty classes at various stores, including knitting. So I might see which of the nearby wool/yarn stores have a convenient Stitch 'n' Bitch or learning class that I can attend child-free (because I know that if I have Dashiell around, I'm not going to learn it as fast... too many distractions.
