Blizzards-R-Us

We have a blizzard warning until 12.30 this afternoon, and another one for tonight. We had 12-24 inches of snow forecast between sunday and monday/tuesday night, which has been upped to 20-30 inches. Looking outside now, everything is white... the sky and everything else is covered in about a foot, a few grey skeletons of trees are visible.

Saturday we braved the frosty conditions and headed out to Digital Murder. It was fairly quiet due to the cold and also the heightened terrorist alerts... we saw remnants of the police force around Grand Central, left over from the Peace demonstration there during the day. Apparantly rather than the expected 100,000 protesters there were 500,000 people that showed up, even though it was severely cold (-10 to -15 Celsius). Of course I doubt the fact that half a million people protested for peace in NYC even made the news anywhere... funny how that happens.

Digital Murder was a lot of fun, it was good to see people we haven't seen for varying amounts of time... Cherie, Katie with new beau Richie, Kreestof and Matt/Pookie. Post-club we headed out to Yaffa's for breakfast, always yummy...

Last night we headed out to see The Recruit, which was really cool. If you like spy-thrillers, you'll like this. It started snowing just as we left to go to the theatre, and we had a nice 2 inches on the car when we got back to it... driving home was interesting as they'd not plowed at all yet. It's been snowing steadily all night and will keep on doing so for a good while.

Was it just me, or did everyone figure out the plot to the recruit when they saw the previews?
It was still a good movie though.

I only caught a preview ad on tv once or twice, never saw a longer trailer. As with any spy movie there's always double and triple cross going on. I didn't give the plot ending much thought before hand and let it all come to me... so I didn't have it all figured out at the beginning... though Al Pacino seems to get cast in those kinds of roles fairly frequently.

But yep, good movie.

Looking at Digital Murder's playlists it looks like a good place, excuse me while I curse my luck that I'm only seperated from it by.. oh ... just THE ATLANTIC OCEAN.

[sounds of swearing, cussing and various other mono-syllables that would make a sailor with turette's syndrome blush]

Google here I come, Better have some good places near me. I wonder why I've never looked before???
