So [livejournal.com profile] prez is in a rut. I know how he feels. We're like the rut family right now.

Except for Dashiell, because being in a rut would be too much like a schedule, and $deity knows that he doesn't do schedules (which is why I'm starting the day bright and early at 4.30am) *headdesk*.

An international move got me out of my rut.. :)

Not saying the same would work for you or not, but maybe after you move to the new place, you could have an explore and see what you can do?

There are a few places I'd like to move to that would be de-rutting, lol. But PreZ isn't likely to get a job in California any time soon, and we're not planning on going back to Australia for a few years at least. Not sure about Europe though, I doubt that's really in the cards either.

Isn't he a techy? Google and Yahoo are hiring! ;)

Yes, he's a techy. Senior c++ developer.

When he was looking for a job last year Google interviewed him, only they didn't like it much when he asked them if they could move the process along a little, because other companies were already coming back with offers and there's a limit to how long you can let a company wait with that. So that kind of terminated that prospect we think.

It would have been awesome for him to work there though, the benefits and work environment are great.

I think they're pretty full of themselves over at Google because so many people want to work there.

Well, they were the ones who contact him first, rather than the other way around, so you would have thought they might be more amenable to it. Guess not.
