Bloody Human Beans

I don't know why I watch Animal Precinct on Animal Planet sometimes... half the time it just makes me want to cry.

Seeing what some people will do to their pets sometimes is just horrific. How do they look at their animal and not notice something is very fucking wrong when there's a volleyball sized growth hanging off their dog? Or when bones poke out at all angles and there's large bald patches where fur should be?

What's an added kick in the guts sometimes is just seeing how incredibly sweet some of the animals are that get rescued, even though they've been starved, beaten, neglected and a whole host of other things that crappy excuses for human beings have done to them. They seem to have this unwavering belief in the goodness of humans and they look up at them with complete trust in their eyes. Pity we let them down so often.

I feel so bad for animals that are treated like that. I understand completely what you're saying. I am not normally an emotional person, but when someone treats an animal like that, I want to just beat the shit out of someone, or break down and cry... (normally the latter of the two)..

People who treat animals like shit, need to be treated just as poorly to see what it feels like.

today in the paper is a story of "pet rage" where a man walked up to a lady walking her dog. She thought he was going to pat her pooch, but he walked up and stomped on the back of the little doggie, then looked at the owner, smiled and walked away.

Or the 6 soldiers who got fined $2000 each for what they did to a litter of kittns *cries* They offered to do community service for the RSPCA - but the RSPCA turned around and said "We do not want help from people like that". I do not blame them.

I love animal precinct but hate it at the same time..

Pet rage? what the fuck?

I don't think I even want to ask what the soldiers did to the kittens. You have to be some kind of sociopathic barbarian in order to harm little kittens. And good for the RSPCA to tell them to stick their help.

It was really quite distressing :(

then again, it did not distress me like the pictures of the doggies that were set on fire :( The owner said "it was an accident" That one was in america :( it was so upsetting.

The kitten one - at least it was just an article, not a story. I do not think I could have handled it.

I wish they would be dishonorably discharged from the army.

I watch that show to and about half the time there's something that makes me cry and I almost always start ranting at the TV. I'll go over to my guinea pigs and hug them and tell them they're safe. Just terrible stuff. I especially hate stuff where they find dogs that have been shot or abused kittens... *sniff* I really can't stand it.

One upside to the show is that they do generally bust the people that perpetrated the cruelty, and most of the time the animals get rehomed, which is good.

Most of the time however, I don't feel that punishment is severe enough, but I guess it's a start (granted, compared to what I'd want to do to those people myself nothing would be severe enough barring cruel and unusual punishment and/or death).

The ones that really get me are when they arrest people and the people are really surprised that you can even get arrested for cruelty to animals. How can you be unaware that that kind of behaviour is not acceptable and punishable by law?

I know what you mean; the ones who say, "Oh, you're not real cops, screw you" and "I killed a dog, not a person." I suspect there's something wrong with these people on a lot of levels, not just in their understanding of law.

i know just what you mean.

The worst is when they have Animal Miracles on, then Emergency Vets, and _then_ Animal Precinct. Its outragous what people do to animals, especially when if they just gave them alittle love, the animal gives that and so much more back. I just want to go through and adopt them all... and in fact, when i can afford to, im going to be an animal foster mom... train unwanted pets how to be good in homes and such. I think its the best thing people can do.... especially when you know you cant keep a pet. It gets them out of the kennel, and into loving, even if just temporary, homes.

Poor animals...

I think it is so sad what some people do. I've heard of people in my city who tie a cat to children monkey bars, skin it alive and leave it... for children to see! It is disgusting! Pets have done nothing wrong, yet many humans torture them. I for one love animals, esspecialy cats and dogs.

I came home and found my dog laying in the front yard covered in sewage, dehydrated, and having a siezure.

It's nice to know that my stepdad will neglect my poor dog when I'm not home. -.-

personally, I'd sooner save an animal life than most of humanity, I especially if its a choice between an animal abuser and the animal...
