And with all the stuff that I put into the previous entry I completely forgot to mention that we hit Amoeba and went nuts in there.

For the uninitiated, Amoeba is a kickass music store on Sunset with a massive selection of both new and second hand music. PreZ and I will be mailing a box of stuff back home ;) Well, more than one probably, or one big box, because today we went fabric shopping in the garment district. Michael Levine's puts to shame the stores I've seen in NYC's garment district (so far?).

<3

The scary part is how much we had to restrain ourselves in both stores. I could go back right now and have fun :) Much fun.

Nacht cooked some amazing stir-fry and we watched the Wedding Singer, and are now part way through From Dusk 'Til Dawn. Movie nights with cool friends rock :)

Tomorrow PreZ and I will be heading up to Sequoia N.P. which will be good, I'm very much looking forward to going back.

Sounds like a blast...

This is Lesley (asnightcalls). I am still looking for good clothing places myself. I just subscribed to the Michael Levine mailing list.:) I have been perusing Rose Mortem a bit, but it sure does not compare to that perfect thrift item you find along the way. I did end up buying a pretty sweet corset though.hehe.

Anyways, never heard of Amoeba. What would be different from them and say http://www.industrial-music.com which is Metropolis?

Cool to hear your having fun.

Lesley

Amoeba sells everything. From cajun to classical, from rock to folk. And from new to old. It's like this huge store run by hippies, and it's the size of a department store, full of music both brand new and secondhand.

They do actually have a goth/industrial/experimental section which is well stocked and quite diverse. Metropolis generally stocks mostly their own stuff or whatever it is they're distributing (from what I remember).

And nice to see you on LJ :)

Rosemortem's site rocks though, and from what I've heard she's a lovely person. I've been eyeing stuff on her site for years, and unfortunately (for me) she streamlined her collections and some of the stuff I'd wanted were no longer being offered. All things considered she's very reasonably priced, and I like the way they'll work with you if you have additional measurements etc.
