Attention Needy Cats
Dec. 20th, 2002 05:16 amI wonder if cats eat more when they're nervous or something.
Woke up just now to the sounds of Chestnut scratching at the bedroom door, miaowing and doing what I think sounded like headbutting the door. Because PreZ needs to work in the morning I got up to see if I could stop her doing it, I don't need him waking up again because of her (We have this one continuous shelf all built into the wall around the two outside walls of the bedroom which she decided to walk on, and then try and noisily position herself behind the blinds in the window, this was what got her evicted earlier in the night too). So I'm in the bathroom and I hear some loud noises, I think she tried to upgrade headbutting the door into bodyslamming.
Then she kinda sprinted to the kitchen ... I follow... kitty foodbowl empty barring a few pebbles of dry food. I'd actually given her extra dryfood before I went to bed, and Cherie had been the one that had fed her dinner. So I fed kitty some more, bit of canned and bit of dry food... should last her at least til morning.
I wonder if cats eat when they're nervous, comfort food. I mean, I can't blame her, she's seen 4 different houses within the last week where she's had to stay so I can imagine that might have freaked her out a bit.
I'll have to ask if this is normal Chestnut behaviour when Cherie arrives in the morning to collect her purse that she forgot last night :( there goes about 2.5-3 hours out of her life just getting her bag back.
Now it's 5.15am and I'm hungry *argh*!
