Cold weather, hot tea
Jan. 8th, 2004 01:40 amSo all the christmas decorations are packed away, and I made progress in the kitchen, and even cooked dinner from scratch, mexican chicken, rather than going for the easy packet/jar/frozen dinner route. So fairly productive, in a dull domestic kind of way. The rest of the kitchen and the bathroom is left for tomorrow, with some random other things as well, and then I need to tackle the computer room with PreZ. And maybe I'll have this place ship-shape and squeaky by the weekend, which will make a nice change from the organised and disorganised chaos it's been for a while.
I wish this cold front would go away already as well. I hate when it gets this cold, especially with our bedroom having two outside walls, strategically placed where the icy wind catches that corner and makes it the coldest room in the house. I had to grab a second doona this morning after PreZ had vacated the bed in order to be able to fall back asleep. Plus it's no fun to go outside and almost feel like your skin will blister and peel off from the cold. I need a new filter for the humidifier, but that would mean a trip to walmart, the closest of which is more than half an hour away I believe, and of course not an item they sell in their webstore. And walmart is hardly a highlight of a shopping trip, it's depressing as all hell in those aisles with the horrid fluorescent lighting and the often equally horrid other shoppers.
Stash started tempting me (again) today when their paper catalogue arrived in the mail. They have their Holiday Chai in closeout on the site, so it's 37% off *squee!*, AND they have double bergamot earl grey. Argh! and they also now finally carry rooibos in teabags rather than just loose tea. Yum yum yum. So much tea, so little bladder space ;)
