Road Trip!
Dec. 22nd, 2006 01:34 amDenver airport is supposed to open at noon on Friday. We had a flight to San Francisco scheduled to leave at 1.30pm, with a connecting flight on to NY JFK. Operative word being had. We were about to repack our luggage and PreZ checked the United Airlines website to find our flight cancelled.
Whoop-de-fucking-do.
Kit spent the entire day trying to contact his airline, again, to no avail. Orbitz so far has told him that the first available flight is the 27th, which would also ruin his booked Christmas trip to his dad in Tennessee which is scheduled to leave from L.A. on Sunday.
PreZ is on hold to United Airlines, and has been for a really long while so far. We're trying to find out what our flight options are, though I'm not holding my breath. The first direct flight they told us about the other day was Sunday, and they told us about that a day ago. With supposedly 4000 people stuck at Denver airport all desperate to get home, I'll bet money that that flight will be full.
So, we're actually considering a road trip to Los Angeles. It's a 14 hour drive, and we have 3 licensed drivers, so a direct drive should be doable. Odds are in our favour that there are more flights to the east coast from there, and little chance of snow, and it doesn't look like there will be a flight for us in the next 14 hours or so anyway...
Edit: first flight out of Denver is Christmas day, so we're driving to L.A. and flying out Sunday morning instead.
So, Nadya, we'll be seeing you again really soon. And maybe we'll be able to hook up with
