Birthday

Friday I turned three-oh. Along with Star Wars, and sharing that birthday has always been cool. As well as sharing the day with Poppy Z. Brite's (lj user="docbrite") birthday (many happy returns!).

Thursday evening daskreestof came over and obligingly gave me a new haircut for the occasion. Nothing like turning three-oh for new wild hair-do's right? Pictures will be forthcoming once good ones have been taken and when we either find cables to attach the camera to the computer, or find the printers and fish them out of moving boxes and attach them to the network so I can read the card. I'm not quite done with the bleaching and funky colour part yet anyway.

One of Dashiell's therapists has offered to babysit on many an occasion, so I decided to take her up on her offer, and we dropped Dash off for the evening. We got to go to a Japanese Hibachi and Sushi restaurant and a movie, and he got to catch up on some missed therapy. The hibachi was really nice, we had filet mignon, lobster tail and shrimp. Fried green tea ice cream for dessert. Excellent stuff.

Sadly our movie plans didn't work out. I really wanted to go see the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie, but 2 movie theaters at 2 different times in 2 different towns were all sold out. So we saw Shrek The Third instead. I didn't like it quite as much as the second one, but it was still a lot of fun.

All in all a good birthday, though I wish our friends were here to celebrate it, and not strewn to the four corners of the earth instead.

And now it is Saturday, and I wish Caitlín R. Kiernan (greygirlbeast) a very happy birthday!




I still really want to see PotC3 though. Maybe next weekend

Belated wishes from me as well. Though I was on the network at the time, you seemed a bit swamped and I also am non-intrusive by nature. I am so very glad to hear that you had a nice time. I found thirty to be quite comfortable and not nearly as scary as people make it out to be ;)
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your hair. I've some plans of my own but am waiting till I've my summer job nailed down.
