Sunday night I finished part 2 of my St. Petersburg White Nights cross-stitch piece. Hopefully this weekend I'll manage to get part 3 completed. I'm hoping to catch up with the online class a bit over the next month or two (which is currently at part 9, with parts released monthly).

That is beautiful! I have to say, I admire your patience, I know I couldn't do it.

And the picture doesn't even do all the sparkly metallics justice at all (or the colours... I took the picture inside with just a lamp and the flash, rather than natural light which helps a lot).

I can imagine. (I can never get good pictures of my crafties.)

I can't get over how gorgeous your cross stitch is. I can do samplers. I never knew there was stuff like this out there.

I never knew it either, until I found out my aunt was doing ones from this designer.

I bought/"inherited" this chart from my aunt after she passed away:

She worked on it somewhat, and just under a quarter is completed:

The designer's site is here: http://chatelaine-design.de/newweb/ The Mandala section is the main one to look at (IMO), those are the designs I like the best. Some of the Mandala Gardens start life as Mysteries, where you don't know what the pattern looks like besides a picture of materials and a description, so it's a surprise as each piece is released each month. Others start life as Online Classes, like the one I'm doing, where you have a computer generated preview picture and know pretty much what it'll look like (barring fine details etc.).

So it's all my aunt's fault, she got me into this designer.

You really are so talented! I bet you get a lot of pleasure out of completing something like this :)

It's definitely nice to be able to have something physical in your hands that you made :) There's a lot of satisfaction to be had in creating actual things.

I've still got a lot of work to do before it's completed, but it'll be awesome when finished.

Oooh, good progress. I can't wait to see it when it's finished. :)

How many parts is it divided into?

12. It's a one year online class, and one part is released per month. Obviously you can stitch for longer than a year, but during the course of a year is when the Yahoo group for that class is up and running, and the chart parts released.
