Could you please stop hiking up your postage rates almost every other month? It's getting to be kind of ridiculous at this point, and thanks to the recent 4 cent hike to international postage that I wasn't aware of, I now have several birthday cards that will be late, besides costing me 90 cents postage to get it sent to myself with a "not enough postage" rubber stamping on the envelope.

I think you guys have hiked the international rates by about 10 cents in the past year alone... at least actually get my fucking mail there faster if you're going to keep charging more and more money.

Kthx.

Hey you :)

How have you been? Are you working in London full-time yet or kind of commuting between there and LA still (which I believe was the case last I spoke to Kit)?

Hey! I'm kind of still here in LA, trying to get this magazine off the ground... trying to relocate, but my job is being SO slow about moving me over. :(

How are you?

I'm well. Not sleeping enough as usual, but otherwise enjoying Matilda (who is an adorable little redhead, lol) and getting ready for Dashiell to go to an integrated preschool program in September, which is exciting.

Hopefully once he's in that program he'll sleep on a more regular schedule, and maybe then I'll get some more/better sleep and start having more energy for projects again.

I noticed you cut bangs into your hair on Coilhouse... it looks really cute :) Your eye make-up in those launch pictures is also stunning. And that recent picture of Meredith... she has amazing eyes.

And going by the titles of the polaroid set... Jhonen? THE Jhonen? you lucky peeps! :D And as always I am totally envious of Zo's awesome hair.

Yeah. Well, item tracking isn't really an option on regular international mail, but on domestic it's definitely pretty dismal. By the time the website tells you where the fuck the item is, it has already arrived. I thought UPS was pretty bad with that, but the USPS is worse.

Oh yeah, with packages I definitely prefer FedEx over UPS. For a start when stuff arrives it doesn't look like it was dragged behind the truck rather than transported inside it.

I've seen UPS delivery guys literally throw packages at the door from 6+ feet away, with total disregard for what might have been in it. And I don't know how many times my Amazon.com tracking has said it was delivered and signed for when I've been home, and they never rang the doorbell or had me sign for anything.

Dragged behind the truck is right ! Here in Boston, if you miss the package delivery ( they have a rate that will only make one attempt) you have to pick it up yourself at the depot. its like going to the moon trying to find it. Oh nowhere near public transportaion....

Yeah, the depot is always in the most out of the way place possible, in an area where you feel like you might get mugged in broad daylight too. Then they have the most ridiculous opening times so when you think they ought to be open, they aren't.

UPS trucks and depots must be really filthy places, considering that packages are always coated in dust and filth when they arrive. I've had one arrive with the box doing a pathetic attempt to still cover the item while in shreds... no idea what happened to that one while in transit, I dread to ask.

My last trip I kept putting it off all day. I got there at 4:15...

Only to find out quite by chance that the place didn't open til 4:30 to 5:15 and in the morning from 8:30 -9:00. Yikes i would have started kiling people if I got there at like 2 and had wasted my time. I got in line with 9 other people 7 of them got toally fucked...

UPS - the sound they make when they drop your package?

I've heard so many horror stories about them, but they seem to work okay over here... must just be the US branch?

Whatever happened to "postage due"? I mean, yeah, it sucks for the recipient. But by returning it to you, they're getting your money twice. That's robbery.

I think it says "postage due" on it, but they've already run the envelope through the machine and it has stamped the postage stamp... so I didn't think that I could just add the additional 4c and put it in the mail again?

OH! Nevermind! You mean that the recipient has to foot the bill. I think maybe they don't do that because it's international and then collecting the 4c would be too difficult and cost more than it's worth?
