1. Do you feel that being a "New Yorker" has changed you in any way?

I guess one thing you can learn from New Yorkers is being more direct. I've never seen a bunch of people that are more balls-to-the-wall than (native) New Yorkers, they fear nobody. I think I need more of that to rub off on me ;)

Other than that I'm not sure if it's really changed me, hard to say when looking from the inside rather than the outside. It's exposed me to a lot more things and events and experiences... the upside to a huge cosmopolitan city.

2. What would be, respectively, your favorite and LEAST favorite Eddie Izzard bit?

Favourite is probably the Flags routine from Dress to Kill.

We stole countries with the cunning use of flags, sail round the world and stick a flag in... "I claim India for Britain" and they go "you can't claim us, we live here... 500 million of us" "Do you have a flag?" "we don't need a bloody flag, it's our country, you bastards" "No flag, no country, you can't have one... that's the rules... that I just made up. And I'm backing it up with this gun, that was lent ... from the National Rifle Association..."

Least favourite, very tough indeed as he is definitely a comedian par excellence! I found that listening to his Circle stand-up routine that I was less amused than I was with Dress to Kill, Glorious and Definite Article... I think maybe because it focused too much on religion, the bible and the creation of life/dinosaurs. While there were jokes a plenty and it was funny, it still didn't leave me as amused as the other routines did... just too much of the same theme.

3. What language do you think in?

Mostly English currently, due to the fact that at the moment it's the one that I use the most.

4. You are, obviously, quite elegant. When did you acquire this particular trait?

Hahahaha! I'm definitely not as elegant as people think I am, Lord I wish. I might come across as elegant online, but the physical reality is quite different... Elegant makes me think of Katharine and Audrey Hepburn and the divas of the silver screen in bygone eras, I'm far far away from that.

5. What does it feel like to know that you are a role model/authority figure for a large cross-section of your chosen subculture?

I don't really feel like one. And occasionally it still kind of takes me by surprise that people see me that way. Rolemodel maybe, but not really authority figure. Other than that I don't really think about it too much... I try to answer people's sincere questions as best I can, and I point people to places for information, but it's nothing more than most people would do really.

I don't know this person but they sure asked you some good questions :) I do have to say, having seen you in person, you are elegant both on and offline. You're very sophisticated and I like that about you! And you are a great role model too... remember I'm still trying to acquire this kick-ass attitute of yours ;)
