Friendster is a neat concept.

I just wish it wasn't so goddamn slow all the goddamn time (which is the reason I've ignored it for months, even though some people I only have on that page and not on LJ). It's worse than the way LJ can get in the afternoon sometimes with all the homecoming school kids. *Blech*. It's slow like that all the time too, not just at specific peak times. I'm guessing .jsp pages aren't speeding things up much, I've not encountered much java related that's reknowned for speed.

I agree. It's a pain in the ass.

I'm pretty sure that Friendster sold off my email address. One of the reasons I am unable to use my first hauntedmansion account any longer is due to a sudden devastating amount of spam I began receiving there -- the onset of which coincided with my joining up with Friendster for the first time. Coincidence, possibly, but I'm wary of it now, nevertheless.

Actually JSP is plenty fast, it just chews through memory like a goat through trousers. Unlike PHP, which uses less memory, but is slower.
