Shopping and Phones

annuinThis afternoon PreZ took off the last hour or two from work, he was working from home anyway, so easy to do. We headed over to the Palisades to do some Christmas shopping, mostly for each other. I'd already gotten him some stuff earlier in the month, but I know he got me something very expensive, and I wanted to add some other things of the somewhat stocking sized variety, so I got a bunch of other stuff.
There was one item in particular I wanted to get him, something I know he's needed and wanted for a while, and I managed to find a nice one, in the perfect colour. Score! I got something else that will compliment that item, and a few other things too. Now they sit awaiting next Thursday under the tree. Now PreZ feels guilty because he only got me a few gifts, as opposed to the more numerous ones I got him. As though the quantity matters to me... the one (or few) well thought out worthwhile gifts are just as wonderful as having more to open.
This is really the first year we've actually really done presents with each other, despite being married for 2 years and having spent 3 Christmasses together. Generally we just have this thing where we just buy something we want... not a huge surprise involved, but still.
Oh yes, and the big news of the day is that PreZ and I got new cell phones, and a new service provider. We finally switched from T-Mobile/Voicestream to Verizon. So we now actually have honest to god reception in the house. I've sent sms's to those of you in my phone directory who I know can receive text messages (Karen, Tom has my and PreZ's new numbers, so you can get those from him). Those of you who didn't receive the message and still want the cell number, let me know.
